“ERU IYAWO”

Every bride in the world is entitled to a gift or gifts on her wedding day. In this part of the world, during the traditional marriage (popularly called engagement), the groom and his family get the bride a few gifts. It is part of the tradition to show appreciation for the girl who is about to be given to them. In Yoruba land, the gifts are called ERU IYAWO (bride’s gifts). Continue reading
